We believe that kindness is the key to changing the world. It is the birthplace of peace, it illuminates our hearts and souls, it unites people who would otherwise remain strangers and it builds vibrant, safe communities. For all these reasons, and many more, we also believe that kindness should not be celebrated as random, but encouraged in a manner that inspires conscious choice and awareness both personally and globally. Dakbands are a call to action, a reminder, a way of expressing our understanding of the power of kindness to kindle hope and change. Happy dakking.

Our new site has been active for a couple of weeks now and although there have been a few bugs, the response has been awesome. We want to remind everyone that if you had an account on the old site, once the data has been transferred your log-in details will remain the same. However, the data has not yet been transferred, so please be patient as we hope to have this finished this week. If you create a new account on this site, we cannot merge the accounts. (Thank-you for your patience) If you are new to dakbands please go ahead and create an account and begin dakking!!

We are currently experiencing some problems with stories that overlap - begin and end in the same community. Multiple stories from the same community can't be seen. We are correcting this problem!

Well the Aviva Community Fund competition moves into the semi-final stage without us :(  We do want to thank everyone who voted, and we hope that you will find the project that most moves you and continue to vote for them. This is an awesome competition and deserves to be supported and recognized. Our turn will come, with some other opportunity!
